Phil Alessi is the owner of Alessi Bakeries, Inc. He was conceived with business savvy running through his veins. Phil started his first enterprise at age 6 setting up a shoe shine stand in front of his father’s bakery. At age 17, Phil’s father backed him in his first bakery, ”Phils Bakery”. In 1970, at age 27, Phil bought out the family baking business forming a new corporation that has grown into the Alessi Bakery of today. Phil’s imagination, entrepreneurial spirit, and sense of community responsibility have lead him down many business paths.
Today Phil concentrates on his first and true love, Alessi Bakeries. The expansion of the retail bakery included a world class manufacturing facility that ships out gourmet pastries to retail food stores, restaurants, hotels, and distributors of fine foods nationwide.
Phil’s leadership is currently focused on streamlining the processes at Alessi to make Alessi Bakery products available throughout the US and globally. This would make Alessi Bakeries a world class operation in the new Millennium.

Mike Birnbaum joined Alessi Bakeries in September 2008 as Executive Vice President and General Manager. A Graduate of the University of Florida, Mike comes to Alessi Bakeries following a 27-year tenure with the SYSCO Corporation. He brings with him, extensive knowledge in the Foodservice Distribution Industry as well as a strong leadership expertise in the sales and marketing arena. Mike looks forward to working with Alessi Bakeries and being a part of their continued growth and success.

Sefik started with Phil Alessi 28 years ago when Phil had a single bakery. Sefik would assist Phil in scouting other bakery locations and marketplaces. He was Phil’s retail manager for 18 years. Sefik was promoted in March 2007 to Chief Operating Officer and is in charge of the daily manufacturing of Alessi Bakery products.

Debrah Herman is Alessi's Chief Financial Officer. She started her career at the Public Accounting firm Deloitte & Touché, and brings to Alessi Bakeries over 20 years of financial experience, with a solid background in accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management. Debrah has worked in numerous industries including real estate, construction, and transportation. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida and is a qualified Florida investment advisor.

Nancy Cherrier joined Alessi in 2003 as Human Resource Manager has enjoyed over 20 years in the human resources field and has worked in a variety of industries, including computer, food & beverage, medical, professional employer organizations; and with companies ranging in size from privately owned to large Fortune 500 conglomerates. Nancy brings with her an array of experience in the areas of recruitment, training, and employee relations. She is not only well networked in the Tampa Bay area but has been an active member of the National Society of Human Resources for over a decade.

Debi Gross joined the Alessi team in April 2006 and comes to us with five years of foodservice experience as well as 20 years of administrative support. She brings with her the knowledge of payroll, A/R, A/P, receiving, will-call, customer service and multiple computer programs. Debi is responsible for handling all aspects of logistics for our Foodservice and Retail customers. She ensures that the customer’s orders arrive timely and accurately. She is very enthusiastic about growing with the company.

Andy Parikh joined Alessi Bakeries in 2006 and is accountable for quality assurance, food safety/HACCP program and food regulatory affairs. Andy has over 18 years experience in a variety of food and beverage industries, with companies ranging in size from privately owned to fortune 500. Andy also brings an array of experience in production, quality control and sanitation. Andy is very team oriented and dedicated to providing his expertise to the growth of Alessi Bakeries.
